I’ve got a fan and a rival. At first it was kind of cool, having someone write songs about me and tell me I’m awesome and get excited about my self-promotions. Then it got a little weird, when he tried to change his name to mine (and came up with Colin MacIntyre). Frankly, I was honored to begin with, but then his stupid misspelled name began interfering with my google searches for myself.
Do you know how irritating it is to search for yourself on google and then have a misspelled version of your name come up repeatedly before your results?! I used to be able to relive my Michigan high school tennis glories on the first google search page, but not anymore. Infuriating. He does the same thing to me on Youtube. And apparently he has used my name to gain fans for himself - idiot fans who misspell his name as mine and further interfere with my searching.
And his second song about me is somewhat insulting. I mean, who does he think I am, Nicole Richie? He’s the one who had to steal my name to make himself famous. Give me a break. Or maybe the second song is his way of admitting his misdeeds. I’m not exactly sure – it all gets very confusing once we sort of share a name.
The bottom line is that I’m sick of this fan and his songs were never really any good. If there are any fans out there interested in writing good songs for me, like this one, then feel free - I’ll send you merchandise in return. Otherwise, please back off. I write this blog to share stories of my greatness with the world, not to inspire people to steal my identity and surpass me in notoriety.
